Enterprise Nigeria Foundation (ENF) is part of an international network of enterprise support institution and programs under the UNDP Africa regional initiative called Enterprise Africa (EA).
Enterprise Foundation was established in 1999 as one of the new African country programs under EA's mandate, to join twelve (12) other programs which are currently operational in Africa.
The Foundation is not-for-profit; Non Governmental Organization (NGO) operating under the guidance of an eleven (11) members advisory board. Our board members are respected persons of high integrity and varied backgrounds, with vast experience and professional life.
The objective of the Enterprise Nigeria Foundation program
To establish a new national program in entrepreneurship and enterprise development which addresses in a comprehensive and integrated manner, the needs of existing Nigerian entrepreneurs and in addition, those of emerging entrepreneurs from the business opportunity identification stage to successful operation of high-growth small and medium-scale enterprises ( SMEs).
To establish an institutional mechanism for identifying entrepreneurial potential and directly assisting indigenous Nigerians to rise to the challenge of setting up new businesses engaged in value-added activities, or expanding into new
markets.
To assist Nigerian entrepreneurs in structuring and packaging projects proposals such that they bankable and to facilitate access to commercial credit facilities, private and institutional equity investments and project specific grant funding.
To develop a variety of management training program designed to assist Nigerian entrepreneurs in enhancing their managerial, operational and financial capacity and efficiency while increasing the profitability of their businesses.
To establish mechanisms for developing linkages between Nigeria SMEs and foreign companies as well as enhancing the export capacity of selected local SMEs.
Enterprise Nigeria Foundation is administered by Enterprise Africa and funded by UNDP / UNOPS (United Nations Office for Project Services) together with other donors and sponsors in the financial community and the large corporate private sector. A regional office for the Enterprise Africa programme is located in Accra, Ghana and headed by a Director.
Enterprise Nigeria Foundation's National Secretariat responsible for the day-day management of our programme is situated in Victoria Island, Lagos Nigeria and headed by a Director.
