Applying the Entrepreneurship Model
Entrepreneurship may indeed not be for everyone as people have different motivations and considerations of achievement and success. Besides, there are identifiable competencies and behaviours associated with entrepreneurship which are universal. The PEDP seeks to prepare officers and men to acquire the needed entrepreneurial skills and competencies to enable them develop businesses of their own in order to make a smooth transition into self employment.
This program will introduce participants to basic entrepreneurship skills acquisition and test of entrepreneurial motivation among participants. Essentially, officers due for discharge shall go through a two-day intensive entrepreneurial training and orientation in order to unearth their individual competencies/skills and appetite and aptitude to engage in self employment. This programme shall be held at locations of the Retirees.
